In order to avoid inactivity I suggest that aswell as the Game of the Week module, there should be a Flash game of the week too (seeing as Flash games are playable via modules and all). I thought that it would be a quick and easy way to play and discuss these usually highly addictive game. Case in point: Shuffle

Shuffle has to be one of the all time addictive flash games I've ever played. It's simple - You must eliminate your opponents marbles by using your own to push them out of the play grid. Each time you win a round a marble is deducted from your amount making it harder to win the next round. It's great to play, especially if you have 5 minutes to burn.

Give it a try and post your score. I managed to score 25050 on my last play.

Neat. I have yet to play Another World, but since I was always quite the big Flashback fan I've always wanted play the "prequel". I had no idea about the new hi-res version - I must check it out some day.

By the way, the first link to the cursors requires a password for some reason and I couldn't download them. The second link however works fine. Nice job.

You can't download full commercial games via this site - you never could (nor did the GGE advertise such a feature). Unless it's freeware and has been made available for the public to download you won't find such links in the games download section.

Tonnes of great Indie titles are available for download here, so do a bit of browsing and I'm sure you'll come up with something you'll like in no time.

I like the game of the week article, Skaldicpoet9. It's a great way to get people interested in games that they may of missed back in the day, which is the case with me and Morrowind. My PC didn't like being flogged and flat-out refused to play it all those years ago.
My friend had it on the Xbox but I prefer to play these types of games on the PC. I've seen Morrowing GOTY Edition in bargain bins for as little as $10 these days, so I may pick it up next time I see it. But with so many other games to play I doubt I'd have the time to delve into it as much as it requires (hell, I haven't even started to play Oblivion, despite it residing on my HDD for the last year).

The fact that you prefer Morrowind over Oblivion has intriuged me though...

Good news about the added weapon features. Sounds like they will flesh out the combat nicley.

Now for the questions:

1) It "feels" fun. Simply, the game gives off a very colouful and casual feel which makes me have a relaxed approach to it. The graphics need a resolution upgrade, which will add to the vibrancy to it and the sound, music especially, add another layer of enjoyment to the game. In all, I like it! :)

2) Besides the camera... I get annoyed when I shoot my own tiny troops. I know the icon changes to let the player know that they are friendlies, but by that time it's usually too late :)
A simple RTS style mini-map (green denotes the good-guys, red the bad-guys ect.) would alleviate this problem. Not only will it make traversing the maps easier and perhaps less frustrating, the map itself fits perfectly in a war-themed game such as yours.

3) ToW is essentially pure arcade fun - Gameplay-wise it succeeds in what it does, and the Free-mode is an apt inclusion. However, it needs more polish to make it complete. Meaning that while the amount of explosions does suffice, the feel of these pyrotechnics and the accompaning sound-effects needs to be beefier and more various to give the game that little extra "oompf", if you know what I mean.

4)The only bug I came across was when I came to a bunch of trees near a water mass. As I got closer to the trees the tank "hovered" on the y-axis for a few seconds, making control difficult. Though I'm not sure if that was due to the water iteslf.

In all its a fun game with loads of potential. I'm looking forward to where you guys take it! :)

I've had the time to play a little more. I've managed to only get up to level 3, but it has been a fun blast to play so far. :)

I still feel that the camera is not tight enough, though the alternate angle and additional controls you mentioned help the situation somewhat.

I'm not sure what the cash is collected for so far, but I assume that it will go towards upgrades to your tank, aswell as other tanks, which would be a nice feature.

I was hoping for a strafe function, to add to the arcade feel of the game. Perhaps it would be included as a purchase with the aforementioned cash system used to buy that function.

Also the ability to buy and deploy turrets would be another cool feature. Being able to deploy these turrets near choke points or near your HQ would add a touch of stategy to the title.

Also, is multiplayer on the cards?

Okay, I had a few minutes to install and give it a quick play.
Obviously the game installed without any issues this time, which was nice :)

It has great production vales! The cartoony graphics are well done, if a little blurry right now, but I assume a future update will include various graphics options. The sound and music, and even the setting are all unique and add extra charm. All nicely done.

I haven't had enough time with it yet to get a grip on how it plays, it seems a cross between shooter and RTS, which appeals to me, so I'm interested in playing further.
The only problem I encountered during the few minutes of play was the camera response. It needs to be tighter when the player character turns left or right, always sitting directly to the back of the main unit. But that may just be my playing style.

I'll keep playing when I get the time, which should be this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

Okay. I didn't have the MusicTankality folder so I created one and placed the new string in resources.ini

When I load the game it displays a splash title screen and plays music for 2 or so seconds then crashes back to the desktop again. There are a few different title screens with alternate music. So progress is being made at least.
