Site Downtime

It would be nice is somebody - anybody - left a small news post or even just a locked forum thread explaining why the website so frequently disappears, sometimes for days at a time. Someone obviously boots it back up, right?

It's happened for weeks, but I always come back here to find... absolutely nothing. Not a word.

If you're going to bring the website back online just to continue ignoring it, at least give us a reason why we should bother checking back every time it disappears. Otherwise quite frankly, I'd rather not bother with this anymore. It's dead.

I am so disappointed in the people behind this. Such a wasted opportunity.

It's not easy... but showing you care and posting regular status reports is very important! It does not need to be much...

Yeah, that is what I try to do here. I think that as long as there is a dedicated group of individuals contributing to the site then I think that it will only continue to grow (however, we do need some things to take place so things don't become too unwieldy..i.e. a site update).

I am fairly certain though that Garage Games will turn their eye back on the site soon, I understand that they are busy with other projects and sometimes they may not have the staff to expend on GGE until they achieve the end they are working towards at this time. Don't worry everyone, this is just a minor hiccup in the development of this great site and community....GGE is here to stay as long as we the gamers believe in it.

I recorded some of the times GGE was down over the past few days. (In GMT)

23rd Nov- (1:30pm, 6pm)
24th Nov- (9am, 6pm)

Note that those are the first and last times I checked on those days, I checked a couple of times in between as well. Today it is 8:44am GMT and the site is back online. I'll see if it goes down again later (after 9am).

Well, leaving TDN in the "Community Hands", is a good demonstration of why NOT to do this...also, creating a site with virtually NO Administrator and new content is equally as puzzling?? I hear the InterWeb is a 'dynamic' & ever-changing zone...??? Must be a rumor!

I think it's more the idea of, "...supply a little something, let others do the 'heavyLifting', sit back and start counting the accolades on how cool the 'idea' was"...my own opinion, based upon mere visual observation over a timePeriod. What other excuse is there? Too Busy? HA. I am a very busy person...I still manage to help modelers and post Threads at the various sites I visit on a daily basis...too busy? B'ah. I got out in the Real World, work there, make money, come back to my InterWeb workStation and gig here....and I am NOT 'too busy' to keep things updated. Perhaps, some in-house training on 'MultiTasking'...LOL, is in order? Enjoy.
